About us

cobbs farm shop

Our fantastic farm shop has a café, butcher, fishmonger, delicatessen, florist, play barn and seasonal PYO

We have a fully licensed café serving home-made fresh meals and light bites, using home-grown or local produce wherever possible. On a sunny day there is a garden terrace for you to enjoy and at the end of our garden is a very popular children's play area.

We bake our own homemade quiches, pork pies and sausage rolls every morning and fresh bread is delivered daily from artisan bakers. Summertime Pick Your Own is a great day out for all ages and a very economical way to stock up on our homegrown soft fruits.

Farm Shop

Farm Shop

cobbs farm shop Our farm shop boasts a huge range of locally produced goods, fresh fruit and vegetables and a delicious delicatessen. We have everything you need to keep your store cupboards full as well as all your daily essentials like fresh bread, milk and homemade cakes.

To accompany these foodie delights we have one of the area’s best traditional butchery counters with a core focus on quality. We look to source our meat from local farms, whose standards of welfare and attention to detail match our own exacting standards.

cobbs farm shop Our farmers, Jayne and Alison are out in all weathers tending and picking the crops we grow bringing our fresh homegrown produce down to the shop where it sells almost as quickly as it is picked. From farm to shop for zero food miles! We farm mostly soft fruit in the summer with some vegetables, during the autumn we see our shop fill up with a fantastic selection of unusual squash varieties and enormous pumpkins all grown here on our farm.

Asparagus and rhubarb are important crops for us in the spring. Our huge bunches of asparagus have become somewhat ‘legendary’ in the local area; word of their superb freshness and incredible taste spreads faster than a big dollop of Hollandaise sauce on grilled asparagus spears. Mmmmm, delicious!

Our café has a changing seasonal menu of tasty homemade, locally sourced, homegrown food. From breakfast to light bites and delicious homemade lunches, not to forget afternoon tea and our fantastic selection of locally made cakes, scones and traybakes.

To tempt you further we have a daily specials board and a very popular roast lunch is available every Sunday. We recommend you book in advance for what is always a busy Sunday lunch!

When the weather is fine there is no nicer place to be than our attractive garden terrace, which has a clear view of the childrenȇs play area at the bottom of our garden. Equally, when the weather is being typically British you can sit down cosily inside next to our log burner with a hot cup of coffee!

We are fully licensed and so you can relax and enjoy a glass of wine (or two!) or a local beer with your meal

In 2011 our first 5 acres of vines were planted consisting of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Later in 2013 we planted a further 2 acres of classic Champagne grapes, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Précoce. After some very careful hand-picking, our grapes are boxed and driven to Hattingley Valley, near Alresford in Hampshire. Here, traditional methods like those found in the French Champagne houses are used, including the iconic Coquard press, barrel and bottle fermenting. Our wines are managed by an award-winning team headed up by Emma Rice and Jacob Leadley.

With the quality and popularity of our wine reflected in the awards won since their release. Our 2013 Blanc de Noirs was awarded the title of Best in Class, giving it the proud honour of being named the best Blanc de Noirs English Sparkling Wine at the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships. It was also one of only three Blanc de Noirs Sparkling Wines worldwide to have won a Gold medal.
