Students’ German adventure

on 30 July 2014.

Some 55 of Hungerford’s young people left the town during July to go adventuring and exploring in Germany.

With a team of staff led by head of year 7, Kathryn Volkelt-Igoe, the famous 55 managed to bemuse a number of residents of Koblenz by asking the about their favourite things in the very best German. They also discovered the delights of the Marksburg castle by walking to it from Braubach, they splashed in the flumes of the Freizeitbad Tauris, had a late-night feast of McDonalds and took to the river Rgine to explore the famous Lorelei rock followed by a chairlift and gondola ride to the Eiscafe Engel in Rudesheim.
