Join in the Hungerford apple harvest

on 03 October 2013.

Why not get involved in this year’s Hungerford Apple Harvest, to produce Hungerford’s very own brand of apple juice?

In response to this year's bumper fruit harvest, Hungerford Environmental Action Team (HEAT) is partnering with local presser Richard Paget to produce a delicious, locally produced Hungerford Apple Juice (with a hint of pear).

An estimated 90% of all apples grown in gardens & private orchards go to waste each year. Across Hungerford there could be over 50 tons of rotting apples and pears, unless we do a Hungerford Harvest.

For the last three years Richard has run a community apple juicing service, based near Bedwyn. This year he is offering 'My Apple Juice' service to us. Individuals and community groups can get involved by collecting apples and pears from local gardens and orchards, then making some money by selling the Hungerford branded juice.

Please let get in touch with us at HEAT_Hungerford@yahoo.com or register at www.myapplejuice.co.uk and let is know whether you:)

  • would like your own labeled juice
  • are happy for your apples to go towards 'Hungerford Apple Juice'
  • have enough for both of the above
