Victorian Extravaganza 2017

The rumours have been flying but don’t worry folks, Hungerford’s beloved Extravaganza is still happening, the only change is in the name. After 25 successful years as the Victorian Extravaganza it was felt that the event could be refreshed. The format remains the same, kicking off with the official opening at 5pm, the parade at 7pm and closing out with fireworks at 9pm.

All the old favourites will still be there: the fun fair, big wheel, helter skelter, bands, stalls, walking entertainers and Scottish Pipe Band but with the addition of some new entertainment. This year Father Christmas will be rocking up with some real reindeer and other new content will be announced once the fundraising effort is underway, and this is where you can really make a difference.

The Extravaganza relies on sponsorship from local businesses to keep the show on the road. It is an important event, not just for the fun-seekers, but the many local charities, schools and societies which benefit from having fundraising stalls. Thousands of pounds are raised for community organisations and participation is encouraged, so book your place in the parade! If you think you might be able to help, please contact the Hungerford Chamber of Commerce. Come on... dig deep to make 2017’s Extravaganza an event to remember!
