There are few things more stirring than a choir going at full pelt and Hungerford gets the chance to listen to one of the finest when the Wessex Male Choir comes to town on 1st July. Formed in 2001, the choir is internationally acclaimed for their heartfelt and entertaining performances which scoop awards wherever they go. Winners of best male choir at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in 2011, they also bagged the coveted Gold Cup for best choir at the Cheltenham Festival in 2008, 2013 and 2016. In November 2016 they sung at Wembley Stadium in front of 84,000 people as part of the RBL Poppy Appeal. Imagine how that sound will fill the hall at the John O’ Gaunt School. Not to be missed.
