Regular Courses of Preparation for New Volunteers and 2 Family Groups and 1 Post Natal Depression Group

About Us

We have been active in West Berkshire since 1997 and provide support for over 100 local families per year. In addition to our home visiting volunteers we run 2 family groups and a specialist Post Natal Depression Group. We have over 45 active volunteers aho work alongside parents to help promote the best start in life for children.

Support for Families

Support and Friendship for Families within West Berkshire Across the UK more than 16,000 Home-Start volunteers visit families at home each week, supporting parents in situations as diverse as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or who are just finding parenting a struggle. They provide non-judgemental practical and emotional support and help build the family’s confidence and ability to cope.

If you are a parent within West Berkshire and believe you would benefit from our support then please contact us on 01635 760310 or email office@home-startwb.org.uk Alternately you may feel that you can support a local family through volunteering for us.

Volunteering

Volunteers encourage, listen and offer practical support. They become a trusted friend and mentor of the family, to help them move forward. We are always keen to recruit new volunteers and run two courses of preparation for new volunteers every year. The course runs for 30 hours over a six to eight week period and has the option of being accredited.

If you are a parent and feel you have time to offer then call or visit our website to find out when our next course will run.If you are interested or would like to discuss this further please contact us on 01635 760310 or email office@home-startwb.org.uk More information can be found on our website www.home-startwestberks.org.uk

Your library is about so much more than books
Judging from the amount of community activity going in Hungerford Library, the council are going to have a hard time justifying its closure in their next round of swingeing cuts.
