People flocked to Hungerford town hall to enjoy this year’s Hungerford Food Festival – and as you can see, enjoy it they did.

The High Street had the flavours and aromas of delicious food and drinks while the Town Hall was full to bursting as crowds rushed into to see the displays, competitions and exhibits on two floors.

No-one could have been disappointed. Kiddies’ faces were painted and choccy treats made, beers and ciders refreshed the parts that the amazing range of foods to be sampled couldn’t reach.

So different from last year’s rather rainy event, the sun shone and the music played. The festive feeling had an extra roar of excitement as classic cars paraded along the High Street on their way to the Shalbourne Classic  Car show.

Below are a selection of images captured at the festival. We will be posting more over the coming days along with information about many of the exhibitors and the winners of the various Food Festival competitions.

Afternoon tea, Pimm’s for me!
Blandy’s bistro are renowned for their extraordinary afternoon tea. It is a banquet affair with a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, homemade scones with tiptree preserve and clotted cream along with a variety of homemade cakes.

Your library is about so much more than books
Judging from the amount of community activity going in Hungerford Library, the council are going to have a hard time justifying its closure in their next round of swingeing cuts.
