Making money for MacMillan

Over £700 from just one coffee morning, that was the result of a Macmillan Coffee morning at Hungerford’s United Reformed Church recently.

A team of volunteers helped organiser Fiona Hobbs, of the Tutti-Pole Tea Shop to prepare, donate and serve coffee and cakes by the score for this special morning for Macmillan Cancer Support .

There was also a raffle and several fund-raising stalls as well as a silent auction which sounds at odds with a busy coffee morning!

And the fund-raising isn’t over. Fiona says: “It’s not too late if anyone wants to donate they can text COFFEE 6NJ to 70550 to give £5....and thank you.”

A very big thank you to all who have donated for the raffle & the Auction

Afternoon tea, Pimm’s for me!
Blandy’s bistro are renowned for their extraordinary afternoon tea. It is a banquet affair with a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, homemade scones with tiptree preserve and clotted cream along with a variety of homemade cakes.

Your library is about so much more than books
Judging from the amount of community activity going in Hungerford Library, the council are going to have a hard time justifying its closure in their next round of swingeing cuts.
